Flat bevels and knives better grinding
The MB-102 Multi-Holder allows you to sharpen on the side of Tormek diamond grinding wheels. This results in a completely flat bevel, which is preferable for certain applications. The MB-102 Multi-Holder is fully adjustable to allow optimal adjustment for every tool and fixture. This allows you to convert the horizontal mount into a vertical one. This facilitates access when sharpening with the rotating wheel and for guided honing with knife jigs.
The MB-102 multi-holder is delivered fully assembled and ready for immediate use.
Why MB-102 Multiholder?
- Allows you to grind a perfectly flat bevel on the flat side of the diamond grinding wheel.
- Excellent for sharpening instrument maker's knives, kiridashi knives, goat's feet, chip carving knives, Japanese planes, etc.
- Allows frontal vertical mounting of the universal support - better access for sharpening knives with the direction of rotation and for guided honing with knife devices.
- Fits the Tormek T-8, Tormek T-4 and older models.
Allows a completely flat grinding bevel
Sharpening on the top of the curved side of the grinding wheel will produce a slightly concave bevel. Some tools prefer a flat bevel. You can achieve this by sharpening on the flat outer side of diamond grinding wheels.
Please note that sharpening on the grinding wheel side with the MB-102 multi-holder is only recommended for diamond grinding wheels. We do not recommend it for sharpening with whetstones, as they wear out and require dressing, which is not possible on the side.
Fully adjustable to suit your specific tool
The MB-102 Multi-Holder features an adjustable joint so you can optimally adjust the sharpening position for any tool or fixture. The MB-102 Multi-Holder can be mounted on the machine either vertically or horizontally, depending on what's best for your tool, fixture, or posture.
Sharpening of knives with rotation and guided honing with knife devices
If you mount the MB-102 Multi-Holder horizontally on your Tormek machine, you can mount the universal support vertically in front of the machine. Essentially, you convert the horizontal mounts on the machine into a vertical one.
This allows for better access for sharpening the knife edge with the rotational direction, and for guided honing with the help of knife jigs. Sharpening with the rotation of the stone is particularly advantageous with the Japanese Waterstone to ensure that the edge does not catch on the softer stone.
Works with most Tormek jigs
The MB-102 Multiholder can be used with most Tormek jigs. It is designed to work optimally with these jigs:
- KJ-45 Centering device for knives
- KJ-140 Width centering device for knives
- SVM-00 Holder for small knives
- SE-77 Device for straight cutting
- SVS-38 device for short tools
- SVD-186 R fixture for tubes
- SVS-50 device Multi
- SVD-110 grinding support

Cutting tools, wearing parts and operating materials are excluded from the warranty, as their service life depends on the respective use, storage and/or intensity of use.
Warranty claims can only be asserted in the case of production errors or verifiable defects.
