Description

Adheseal is a unique, particularly high-quality, wet-on-wet paintable, permanently elastic MS polymer-based adhesive sealant - Adheseal offers perfect adhesion even on delicate materials.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Solvent and isocyanate free
  • Very good UV and temperature resistance (-40 °C to +90 °C)
  • Very high adhesion
  • Extremely high elongation at break (400%)
  • Impressive, lasting elasticity
  • Certified with the GEV-Emicode EC1-Plus - very low emissions

OTHER PRODUCT BENEFITS

  • Perfect adhesion even on delicate materials such as metal, plastic, rubber, (plexi)glass, natural stone, galvanized materials, mirrors and much more...
  • Skin formation within a very short time, dries quickly, cures completely even with closed bonding
  • Free from solvents and isocyanates - Bonds or sealing seams do not shrink or tear
  • Contains no harmful plastic plasticizers (phthalates)
  • Has a CE marking, which complies with all uniformly applicable rules of the EU Construction Products Regulation (the detailed declaration of performance can be found at www.innotec.at)
  • Excellent elongation at break of 400%, also retains impressive elasticity
  • Very high adhesion (26 kg/cm²), without sanding or priming, even on damp or wet surfaces (even suitable for bonding underwater)
  • Very high temperature resistance from -40 °C to +100 °C (short-term up to +130 °C)
  • Very good UV resistance (Note: UV protection is urgently required when bonding glass!)
  • Can be used as a seal and for bonding insulating glass, suitable as slip or step protection
  • Can be easily painted over after just 10 minutes or can be painted over wet-on-wet with almost any modern paint system (up to 4 hours after application)
  • Can be punctured with a spot welder, does not burn - as a fixation for bonding

APPLICATION

APPLICATIONS AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY

Stick:

  • Bare/galvanized sheet metal, aluminum, plastics, polyester, rubber, glass, painted surfaces (without sanding), body parts such as side panels (VW bus), roof skins, struts, wheel arches, superstructures, etc.
  • Bonding of design sheets and e.g. Ecopan panels to vehicle bodies
  • Spoiler on painted tailgate or on glass
  • All-round installations, side skirts, trim strips, headliner

Sealing:

  • Body sealing seams of all kinds, such as sealing under the rear lights, on the sill, on the B and C pillars, on the door folds and strut mounts, high roofs, as well as on all joints and overlaps
  • Electrically punctureable as a fixation for bonding, such as roof skin, side wall, wheel arch (repair sheet)
  • Adheseal can also be rolled on - therefore ideal as step, slip and edge protection

APPLICATIONS INDUSTRY

Stick:

  • Iron, steel, copper, brass, stainless steel, Uginox, galvanized or bare sheet metal, painted surfaces, aluminum, powder-coated sheets, colored sheets, most plastics, Corian, glass (including mirrors), acrylic and plexiglass, polyester, foams, polystyrene, rubber, wood, stone, concrete, brick, marble, granite, etc.

Sealing:

  • Wall connection joints, exposed aggregate concrete slabs, ceramic tiles, natural stone, marble, glazing, terrace and expansion joints, ventilation shafts, all metal connections, roof seams, and in the case of construction moisture in bathtubs and shower trays

Tips:

  • Due to the absence of plasticizers and solvents, Adheseal can be used safely for sealing with almost any insulating glass if the edge seal is made of butyl/polysulfide.
  • Adheseal is also frequently used as slip or step protection on a wide variety of surfaces, such as concrete, metal, and wooden steps, tiles, shower trays and bathtubs, starting blocks in swimming pools, stainless steel steps and staircases, as protection for doors and walls, for forklift, bed, or trolley traffic, etc.
  • (Prime the substrate with Innotec Seal Guard - Art. No. 1487 and roll on Adheseal with a paint roller!)
  • For visible joints in wet areas please use Innotec Easy Seal XS

PROCESSING

NOTES

Pretreatment of the substrate:

  • To clean the parts to be bonded or sealed, use Innotec Seal and Bond Remover (Art. No. 1270) or Innotec Multisol (Art. No. 124). Apply the cleaner to an Innotec Multi Wipe (Art. No. 1092) and wipe dry to allow the cleaner to dry off.

Sealing / bonding on special materials:

  • To ensure optimal adhesion when sealing or bonding on special surfaces (e.g. rubber, plastics, powder-coated sheets, etc.), ensure that the surface is dry, clean and, if necessary, sanded.
  • Pre-clean with Innotec Repaplast Cleaner Antistatic (500 ml - Art. No. 1565 or 5 liters - Art. No. 1564)
  • Apply a thin layer of Repaplast Primer New Formula (Art. No. 1595) - spray distance approx. 25 cm
  • Allow to dry for about 10 minutes before further processing

Adheseal processing:

  • Apply Adheseal with a cartridge gun
  • Innotec Seal Fluid (Art. No. 1274) can be used to smooth the sealing bead (Caution: Allow to dry thoroughly for approx. 20 minutes).

Overpainting:

  • Adheseal can be painted over wet-on-wet with all paint systems after 10 minutes (but within max. 4 hours)
  • Before later overpainting with 2K paints (after 4 hours), Repaplast Primer New Formula (Art. No. 1595) must be used!
  • Allow the primer to dry for at least 10 minutes!
  • The processing temperature is between +5 °C and +35 °C. In this temperature range, skin formation takes approximately 10 minutes. At higher temperatures, the humidity increases, resulting in faster skin formation.
  • The curing time is approximately 3 mm per 24 hours

Cleaning:

  • Remove excess Adheseal from the surface or tool with Innotec Seal and Bond Remover or Innotec Multisol
  • Note: UV protection is urgently required when bonding glass!
  • Note: If there is any deviation from the procedure described above, Innotec Austria must be notified!
  • Minimum joint width
  • Industry: minimum joint width ± 5 mm
If the joint is deeper than the maximum permissible processing depth in relation to the joint width, then Innotec Back Fill Foam is used to fill the joint.
    D (joint depth) = [ B (joint width) / 3 ] + 6 mm
    General guidelines:
Ratio of joint width : joint depth
    Joint width ≤ 10 mm = 1:1
Minimum joint width = 5 mm
    Joint depth > 10 mm = 2:1
Minimum joint depth = 10 mm
Automotive: minimum adhesive layer thickness ± 2 mm
