You notice that your milling tool needs to be set 1.3mm higher, for example.

Now simply place the dial indicator on the milling table and milling tool, set the dial indicator to zero and turn the spindle up by the desired 1.3mm, done and above all very precise.

Many machines have a scale on the height adjustment handwheel with 1/10 mm or 2/10 mm divisions, but this is also inaccurate because there is often play in the height adjustment, especially on older machines.
