How does the SawStop safety system work?
The heart of this saw is an integrated safety mechanism that stops the blade in less than 5 milliseconds upon skin contact – 4-6x faster than your car airbag
The technology behind it:
- The rotating saw blade is constantly monitored by an electrical signal.
- When human skin touches the saw blade, the electrical conductivity changes.
- A spring mechanism is triggered, which pulls the saw blade down and blocks it at the same time.
- The result: a minor cut instead of a serious amputation.
After triggering, all you have to do is replace the brake cartridge and check the saw blade – in just a few minutes the machine is ready for use again.
