Description
Description
The SawStop brake cartridge is an essential component of the patented Active Injury Mitigation (AIM) safety system . It stops the rotating saw blade within just 5 milliseconds as soon as skin contact is detected.
An aluminum brake block is fired into the saw blade with high force, abruptly braking the blade and simultaneously pulling it downwards. This causes the saw blade to disappear below the table surface and away from the point of contact, significantly reducing the risk of serious cuts .
An integrated Mylar shield prevents false activation upon contact with conductive materials such as nails, staples, or screws. The brake cartridge is compatible with the SawStop Jobsite Saw Pro, Compact Table Saw, and Professional Cabinet Saw.
After the brake cartridge is triggered, both the saw blade and the cartridge must be replaced. The replacement process is user-friendly and takes only a few minutes. To ensure you're quickly ready to use again, it's recommended to keep a spare brake cartridge and saw blade on hand.
