Instructions for use Furniture, stairs & worktops

STEP 1. Sand the surface properly. Perform the final sanding with 100–150 grit, depending on the sanding method.
STEP 2. Vacuum thoroughly and remove any remaining dust with Rubio Monocoat Cleaner. Allow the surface to dry completely (read the Rubio Monocoat Cleaner technical data sheet before use).
STEP 3. Stir component A until a homogeneous mixture is formed. Mix thoroughly (for 1 to 2 minutes) with the second component in a ratio of approximately 3 parts A to 1 part B.
STEP 4. Apply a small amount of Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C using a beige Rubio Monocoat Scrubby Pad or a hand sander with a small beige Rubio Monocoat Pad (5.9"). For small objects and hard-to-reach areas, use the Rubio Monocoat Mouse Pad.

* Trowel method: Spread Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C with a stainless steel trowel, working in areas that can be completed within 30 minutes (including step 5).
* To distribute the oil on ceilings and walls you can use our Rubio Monocoat brush or our beige Rubio Monocoat Scrubby Pad.

STEP 5. Allow to soak for a few minutes. Remove excess oil with a cloth or a hand sander fitted with a small white Rubio Monocoat pad (5.9"). Finally, wipe the surface with a cloth within 30 minutes. The surface should not feel sticky! Subsequently, completely immerse all used cloths in water.

Instructions for use of floors

STEP 1. Sand the surface properly. Perform the final sanding with 100 grit.
STEP 2. Vacuum thoroughly and remove any remaining dust with Rubio Monocoat Cleaner. Allow the surface to dry completely (read the Rubio Monocoat Cleaner technical data sheet before use).
STEP 3. Stir component A until a homogeneous mixture is formed. Mix thoroughly (for 1 to 2 minutes) with the second component in a ratio of approximately 3 parts A to 1 part B.
STEP 4. Work in areas of 5–10 m². Starting with the edges, oil them with a beige or red Rubio Monocoat Scrubby Pad. Then, using a brush, apply a small amount of Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C every 0.5 m. Spread the product in the direction of the wood grain using a polishing machine fitted with a beige or red Rubio Monocoat Pad (16").

* Trowel method: Spread Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C with a stainless steel trowel, working in areas that can be completed within 30 minutes (including steps 5 and 6).

STEP 5. Carefully remove excess oil using a cloth or a polishing machine with a white Rubio Monocoat pad (16"). The surface should not feel sticky!
STEP 6. Once all areas have been treated, finish the surface again with a new white Rubio Monocoat Pad. The surface should no longer feel sticky. Submerge all used pads completely in water.

Instructions for repairs and renovations

If the surface treated with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C shows signs of heavy wear or the color needs to be refreshed, we recommend using Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C in the original color for maintenance.

STEP 1. Use Rubio Monocoat Cleaner to remove stains from the wood surface. If stains remain, repeat the cleaning process. Alternatively, use one of our stain removers (Rubio Monocoat Grease Remover, Rubio Monocoat Limespot Remover, or Rubio Monocoat Tannin Remover). Read the technical data sheet before use.

* If the wooden object is excessively damaged or in poor condition, the surface must first be sanded with the same grit as the original. If necessary, seek professional advice.

STEP 2. Remove the loosened dirt with a damp cloth or mop and clean water and then allow the surface to dry thoroughly (approximately 30 minutes at a temperature of 20°C and with good ventilation).
STEP 3. Stir component A until a homogeneous mixture is formed. Mix thoroughly (for 1 to 2 minutes) with the second component in a ratio of approximately 3 parts A to 1 part B.
STEP 4. Apply a small amount of Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C using a beige Rubio Monocoat Scrubby Pad or a hand sander with a small beige Rubio Monocoat Pad (5.9"). For small objects and hard-to-reach areas, use the Rubio Monocoat Mouse Pad.

• The product must not be diluted under any circumstances!
• Stir the product well before applying.
• If you use multiple packs on a construction site, we recommend mixing them to achieve a consistent result.
• After application, the surface may have a slight shine. This effect will disappear after 2–3 cleaning cycles with Rubio Monocoat Universal Soap or Rubio Monocoat Surface Care.
• The smoother the surface, the less oil and pigments penetrate the wood, resulting in a less intensely colored surface.
• Our oils are made from environmentally friendly ingredients. However, allergic reactions to certain ingredients may occur. For this reason, we recommend wearing gloves to protect your skin when applying the A+B components.
