This adapter allows you to process small dominoes with the DF 700 XL dowel joiner from Festool.

The adapter is simply screwed in between.

Installation is simple and easy, and has been proven to work hundreds of times. Simply place the adapter between the machine and the DF 500 milling cutter, and you're ready to go. With this adapter, you can use all 4-, 5-, 6-, 8-, and 10-mm Domino DF 500 milling cutters on the large Domino XL DF 700 .

This saves you from having to buy the small DF 500 if you mainly process material thicknesses of 18 mm and above.
For narrow strips or thin materials where you are using the 4 mm Domino, the DF 500 would be more useful.

The small and large joiner differ in the height between the machine table and the cutter center. The DF 500 has a height of 10 mm, and the DF 700 has a height of 15 mm. To compensate for this, it's advisable to prepare a 5 mm thick sheet of material on which to place your workpiece. As mentioned in the video, this only makes sense if you move the machine table to the material. You simply have to make some compromises when using the large machine.

FAQ

• Of course you can use the long DF 700 cutters to process 8x40 / 8x50 / 10x50 dominoes
• When using 4x20 dominoes with the 4mm cutter, you need to add 10mm of material to be able to join material 10mm and larger.

• The milling at 4 / 5 and 6mm corresponds to the exact width as with the DF 500 - in other words, a perfect fit is a perfect fit.
  Of course, you can also make the dowel hole with a little play, as you would with a small milling machine.
