At Festool, we are proud of the quality and durability of our products. The safety of our devices and therefore that of our customers is always our top priority. For this reason, we are informing you today about a voluntary safety measure. As part of our ongoing product monitoring and quality control, serious indications have emerged in individual cases that the aforementioned mitre saws, which are more than 10 years old, pose a safety risk. In a small number of cases, localized heat development and a slow smoldering fire with partial ignition occurred while the respective saw was connected to the power supply. This means that, even if we have not been informed of this so far: It is possible that under unfavorable circumstances a fire could start that could spread to other objects. Due to our careful documentation and findings, we have precise knowledge of the potentially affected products.
In the interest of preventive consumer protection and to prevent possible damage and injuries, including danger to life and limb, we urgently request your assistance.
