What's going on there?
In the last few days we have received some messages from customers because the Festool CMS (short for Compact Module System) is no longer visible on the Festool homepage.
Last year in November/December, Festool heard internally that this system would probably be removed from the product range due to standard adjustments.
Why does this happen?
These are adjustments that apply to machine manufacturers throughout Europe.
To put it simply: There used to be cars without seat belts, but due to a legal change for greater safety, vehicles had to be equipped with seat belts.
It's similar here. It's about tipping, slipping, and what not. The underlying issue is occupational safety.
It is not known whether there will be a successor; according to current knowledge, probably not.
If there is a successor that meets the standard adjustments, Festool will communicate this in a timely manner.
When will it happen?
It's already starting to happen, so if you still want parts of this great system, order quickly. Some products (see list below) are already discontinued.
Does the CMS system make sense?
Yes, absolutely, especially for owners of small workshops, in just a few steps you can have not only a hand-held plunge saw but also a small table saw, table router or other options.
We were happy to sell it regularly because we also fully advised our customers on this matter.
